What to expect:

I provide a warm and inviting space for people to learn about themselves, figure out any blocks to creating life changes, and with finding the answers to the questions they have about themselves.  I encourage everyone that I work with to create a "self-care plan" during each of our sessions. The self-care plan is an action plan to be completed in-between sessions as a way to create lasting change.  In doing this work, I have witnessed time and time again that those who work inside AND outside of the therapy room experience greater change in their lives, and that is why I encourage everyone to have an outside of the therapy room self-care action plan. Self-care plans vary from person to person and are based on each persons individual goals.

I believe that therapy is helpful when clients and I have a conversation about what is happening versus me just me sitting and listening without ever saying anything. I also believe that therapy is a collaborative process and means that I should also be active in the session with you because most people get caught-up in the thoughts circulating in their head and it's helpful to have someone to talk to about the thoughts that are getting in the way of making changes, and to figure out weekly action steps (a self-care plan) that will lead to life changes.

The length of therapy varies from person to person, and there is no obligation to continue therapy if you feel like you have accomplished what you wanted to accomplish during our time working together. Some people like to "get in and get out" while others enjoy taking more time to work through whatever is stopping them from making changes. You and I will talk about what feels best for you and go from there.
